CAP Debt Centre – January 2026 Update
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our clients’ Christmas hampers! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to provide 10 hampers filled with wrapped presents and a £10 gift voucher for meat. We received some lovely messages from the recipients, and your kindness made a real difference to families in our community.
It’s amazing to think that on 24th February, our CAP Debt Centre will have been running for one year! From the very beginning, this has been a church-wide effort. Whether through financial support, serving in fundraising, being part of the prayer group, or befriending clients, every part of the church family has helped make this ministry possible.
Since opening our doors, we have been in contact with 20 clients and their families. While some only took the initial step with Head Office, the majority have begun their journey to becoming debt-free, and four families have now successfully completed the process. Others remain actively engaged and are receiving ongoing support.
Looking ahead, we hope to continue showing care and encouragement to our clients in practical ways. This year, we plan to send out birthday cards to clients. If you would like to help with this, your support would be greatly appreciated.
We are also always looking for befrienders to walk alongside our clients. Training will be held in February, so if you feel called to serve in this way, please get in touch. Additionally, if you’d like to host a coffee morning in your home to support the work, we can provide information to help you get started.
Prayer is at the heart of everything we do. Every visit offers an opportunity to support clients spiritually as well as practically. Over the past year, we’ve seen faith grow in our clients in many ways, some have come to Site Groups, one has given her life to the Lord for the first time, and others have shared experiences that opened up meaningful conversations about faith.
We are looking to add in another Life Skills course in the coming weeks which will link in with our Community Café, this is another opportunity to provide support to people in our local area.
This work is truly a team effort. Every prayer, donation, and act of service helps clients take steps toward freedom from debt and builds hope in their lives. Thank you to everyone in our church family for being part of this ministry, you are making a lasting difference.
Let’s continue to pray for the work of CAP this year.
